Workshop Description:

In this workshop, you'll discover how to design authentic assessments that resist AI-generated shortcuts in online courses. Attendees will learn practical strategies that aim to maintain academic integrity and promote genuine learning in the age of Generative Artificial Intelligence. This session will guide you in developing a practical, authentic assessment project that you can immediately implement in your online course.

Workshop Objectives:

· Define authentic assessment and explain its importance in online courses, particularly in the age of Generative Artificial Intelligence.

· Identify at least three strategies for creating AI-resistant assignments.

· Develop a practical, authentic assessment project that can be immediately implemented in your online course.

· Evaluate assignments against an AI resistant rubric.

Hybrid Format:

Fully online Wed, Oct 29 - Tues, Nov 4, 2025 with Live Presentation on Thurs, Oct 30, 2025 1:15pm-2:30pm in Room A127 on the Paterson campus; Assignment Due Date: end of day Tues, Nov 4, 2025 *Required to be eligible for stipend.

Duration: 3 hours online and 1 hour in person. Total estimated time: 4 hours.

Stipend: A stipend is available for all participants who participate in the workshop and successfully complete the assignments. Stipend payments are in accordance with the teaching participant’s respective contract. Please contact epachella@pccc.edu with any questions.
