Transforming Hispanic – Serving Institutions For Equity And Justice
Dr. Gina Garcia's groundbreaking book unveils a blueprint for transforming Hispanic Serving Institutions (HSIs) into beacons of equity and justice. As a leading scholar on Hispanic Serving Institutions (HSIs), Dr. Garcia believes “…colleges and universities must do more than enroll 25% Latine/x students.” She advocates for organizational change that is responsive and reflective of BIPOC. Join us as we welcome Dr. Garcia to Passaic County Community College and hear about her research, transformational framework, and suggestions for institutional practices and approaches to serve Latine/x and other racially and economically minoritized students respectfully.
